Meet Our Board

Krista Brewer (she/her)

Board Member

Krista is a lifelong resident of Atlanta, Georgia and grew up as the daughter of an Emory University professor. After getting a master's in urban planning and working briefly in that field, she turned to a career in journalism and editing before “retiring” to raise her three children.

She joined Women Donors Network (WDN) in 2008 and served on the WDN Board for six years before joining the WDN Action Board.

She is also a committed volunteer and advocate for various causes that include women’s empowerment, civic engagement, and democracy protection. In addition, she is involved with issues around peace in the Middle East and Cuba solidarity.

In recent years, Krista has been instrumental in founding ProGeorgia, the civic engagement state table in Georgia, the first in the Deep South. She also has helped establish Georgia's donor collaborative and has been actively involved in building the state's progressive civic engagement infrastructure.

In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, and going to the beach!
